Westside Staple is an Eastside Newcomer
Crave has transformed dining on El Paso’s west side over the past couple of years. With its consistently good food and and city-chic atmosphere, it has become the place to be on any given night of the week. However, its diminutive dining room has left its patrons yearning for more…and finally, they’ve got it!
On Monday, May 9, Crave opened the doors to its brand-new east side location. What used to be an old Silver Streak on Rojas, has now become the Crave everyone has been looking forward to. With more space, a huge patio and a full bar, this has become an east side hot spot in only a matter of days.
A few members of the TSM crew went out to celebrate the opening at Crave’s Media Night on Wednesday, May 11th. The staff was treated to some fantastic new appetizers and they all dined on some their already Crave favorites (Crav-orites, as I like to call them). New items on the menu include Bruschetta with oven-roasted tomatoes and pesto (AMAZING!) and Chorizo & cheese flautas, which are served with an insanely delicious (and spicy) guacamole.
For dinner, the staff enjoyed Crave classics, such as the Wedge salad, Chicken & Waffles and the Brick-baked Chicken. Dessert was perfect, as well. Mango & Tamarind Cobbler is new on the menu and while it was tasty, we all agreed that it was missing something. We also ordered the Orange Creamsicle Tres Leches cake and it was wickedly delicious. All the flavors of orange creamsicle and tres leches cake melded perfectly into a proper square topped with strawberries. Last, but not least, was the pot brownie. We all noticed that it was served differently from the west side location. For starters, it was not in a pot. It was served in a skillet and while it was still sinfully tasty, it was not, by definition, a pot brownie.
All in all, the new Crave is all any Crave-lover could hope for. More space, more drink and more everything. You’ll definitely be spotting a few TSM crew members there a few times a week. I know that I definitely can’t wait to stop by again soon.
