On Thursday, May 12th, family and friends of Jeannette Alicia Lazaro gathered to celebrate her life through art and music. Silver Rodriguez of Estylow Junktion, along with Loftlight Studios held a small gathering for family, friends and art collectors in El Paso to bid on art and photographs of Jeannette and of the things she stood for: peace, love, and good times.

Proceeds from the benefit will go directly to R.I.O. The Jeannette Alicia Lazaro Memorial Fund. The studio buzzed with the chatter of event-goers and the soft and warm sounds of local vocalist, Maribel Rubio’s jazzy voice. The peace sign seemed to be the theme of the event, as tables were dotted with peace sign accents and jewelry. This symbol was somethng Jeannette lived by and had tattooed on her wrist. The crowd extended to the outside of Loftlight Studio as the local food truck known as Create Gourmet Eats blasted an upbeat mix of Kings of Leon and Cold War Kids while serving up delicious burgers and colorful bottles of Jones Soda. The event resonated Jeannette in every way- it was both quiet and loud, somber and beautiful.
